Our approach
Understand the injury,
then rebuild
An injury can also serve as a reflection point: a chance to pause, understand what has happened and rebuild deliberately.
The impact is rarely limited to one painful area. Injury can interrupt training, work, routines, confidence and the activities that form part of everyday life.
Recovery will mean different things to different people. It may involve returning to sport, improving movement, rebuilding strength, restoring confidence in your body or simply being able to do everyday things more comfortably.
The starting point is understanding where you are now and building an appropriate route forward.
How it tends to go
Listen, assess, plan, review
Understand where you are
Your history, what you need your body to do, and an assessment appropriate to the problem help us build the plan on useful clinical findings rather than assumptions.
Work on the problem
Treatment may include hands on techniques, rehabilitation, exercise and load guidance, together with clear advice about what to do between appointments.
Review as you go
Progress is reviewed as we go. Around three appointments usually provides a useful early review point. If things are not progressing as expected, the approach is reconsidered.
Function & Forge
Function: understand.
Forge: rebuild.
The Function Room is where we assess, understand and begin working on the problem. Where appropriate, rehabilitation can then progress into movement, loading and exercise in the Forge.
Two spaces serving different parts of the same process.
